Thank you for a wonderful 2006!

We want to thank everyone who contributed to our Annual Fundraising Drive!  Our Annual Fundraising Drive is our yearly effort to raise funds to ensure we have the resources to help dogs with additional medical needs beyond the usual vetting. This year these included Happy's hip dysplasia surgery, Sophie's double hip dysplasia surgery, Snicker's tumor removal, emergency vetting for 2 dogs who unexpectedly died in foster care, spaying and neutering 10 dogs, Willie's Heartworm treatment and Little Abby's surgeries for her birth defect of the ureter being attached in the wrong place. Sophie and Abby both came from breeders who did not have the resources to help the puppies and would have put them down if we had not been able to take them in. Our financial resources from the drive combined with the kind vets who give us a significant discount on their services and foster parents who are willing to take on a dog that will need much more than the usual care make us able to take these dogs in and to help them.

This year we took in 64 dogs, 55 of which we were able to re-home and 2 of which were sent to another breed rescue.  Some came from homes that were no longer able to keep them due to circumstances beyond their control, some from shelters, and some from Animal Control Officers who found them wandering the streets. We could never do what we do and have had such a terrific year without the hard work of our volunteers and the help and financial contributions of all of our friends, adoptive homes and supporters.  We hope that in the coming year you'll continue your support of NEESSR, Inc. whether by adopting, volunteering, shopping or contributing to the care of our foster dogs.

Your Donation Matters

NEESSR feels very strongly that no adoptable dog should be left behind because of medical costs. We receive donations from folks who adopt our dogs and also those who surrender their dogs. But sometimes that isn't enough to cover medical costs for a dog that needs more than routine exams, treatments, and spaying/neutering.

If you would like to help us with these additional costs, please send your tax-deductible donations to the address below. We thank you for helping us help them.

Meet our youngest donor...

We'd like to introduce Jessica, one of our youngest donors who is wild about Springers and even draws them in cartoons!     Her dad is an optometrist, and she beads eyeglass chains to sell at his office.  She decided to give a third of her earnings to charity, keep a third for spending money, and set a third aside for buying more beads.  She remembered seeing us at a dog show in Rhode Island, and decided that rescuing springers was a worthy cause.  She has consistently donated over the past year, and she is an inspiration to us all!  Thank you Jessica!

Many thanks are due to two vets in Burlington, MA. Drs. Joel Woolfson and Douglas Meade have offered sizable discounts to treat our Special Needs Springers. We still need donations to cover remaining costs, but their generosity has made it easier for us to make up the difference with donations. To learn more about these generous doctors, please visit http://www.burlingtonvet.com.  We also receive much-needed discounts from Milton Veterinary Clinic, in Milton, New Hampshire, and thank them for their support.

Another great way to give is to sign up for iGive.com. This organization works with on-line vendors to designate a percentage of your purchase to NEESSR. It's easy! Just click here, designate NEESSR as your charity of choice, and start shopping!

Thank you so much for your generosity.
