Thank you for a wonderful 2007!

We want to thank everyone who contributed to our Annual Fundraising Drive! Our Annual Fundraising Drive is our yearly effort to raise funds
to ensure we have the resources to help dogs with additional medical needs beyond the usual vetting. This year these included: Archie, who
was epileptic; Chapman, who died in foster care of pneumonia after repeated emergency intervention; Hooper and Molly’s ongoing skin and
allergy issues, Sarah’s ACL surgery, and medical treatment for two of our elderly permanent fosters.

This year we took in 60 dogs, 45 of which we were able to re-home. Of these 60, 7 were still in foster care at year end. 3 died while in
foster care, and sadly 5 who could not be placed because of aggression issues. Some came from homes that were no longer able to keep them due to circumstances beyond their control, some from shelters, and some from Animal Control Officers who found them wandering the streets.

We could never do what we do and have had such a terrific year without the hard work of our volunteers and the help and financial contributions of all of our friends, adoptive homes and supporters. We hope that in the coming year you'll continue your support of NEESSR, Inc. whether by adopting, volunteering, shopping at our new online store or contributing to the care of our foster dogs.

We'd like to thank all of those who donated in 2007:

In Memory of Jan's Astrid

Astrid was a very loved springer owned by Jan Golash.  Astrid spent her life on a horse farm.  She had many many friends at the farm. They will all miss her terribly.  She will also be missed by her 'pack" - two Springers, a Rottweiler, a Saint Bernard and a Sharpei- all owned by Jan.  In memory of Astrid we make this contribution and hope that other springers will be able to have as full, happy and loved lives as the one Jan Golash provided for Astrid."

With love,
Astrid's friends at the Crossroads Horse Farm

Your Donation Matters

NEESSR feels very strongly that no adoptable dog should be left behind because of medical costs. We receive donations from folks who adopt our dogs and also those who surrender their dogs. But sometimes that isn't enough to cover medical costs for a dog that needs more than routine exams, treatments, and spaying/neutering.

If you would like to help us with these additional costs, please send your tax-deductible donations to the address below. We thank you for helping us help them.

Many thanks are due to our rescue vet, Chelmsford Animal Hospital (Dr. Patricia Berchtold, Dr. Patricia Hart, and Dr.  Mark Engelhardt), Ashland Animal Hospital (Dr. David Schwarz) and Dr. Joel Wolfson who
have offered sizable discounts to treat our Special Needs Springers. We still need donations to cover remaining costs, but their generosity has made it easier for us to make up the difference with donations. To learn
more about these generous doctors, please visit  http://www.burlingtonvet.com/vets.html www.chelmsfordanimalhospital.com  or www.ashlandanimalhospital.com .

We also receive much-needed discounts from many other vets in New
England and we thank them for their support.

Another great way to give is to sign up for www.iGive.com. This organization works with on-line vendors to designate a percentage of your purchase to NEESSR. It's easy! Just click here, designate NEESSR as your charity of choice, and start shopping!

Thank you so much for your generosity.
