Ester –Accepting Applications

Name: Ester Sex: Female
Location: Billerica, MA Color:

Black & White

ID:   Posted: 5/08/09

Ester is a 9 yr old black and white female.  She is an absolute joy!  She is an excited, happy, tail wagger, who loves to be petted and fussed over.  She gets along with everyone; cats, kids, dogs and visitors!   It’s a good idea to let her greet any new visitor, other wise she can ‘woof’ at them when she knows they are around. Ester does not produce enough tears, and because of lack of treatment of the years, she has become partial blind.  This is treated with a twice daily dose of ointment and thera-tears.  Even though she has limited vision,  Ester gets around wonderfully but needs some sound reinforcement when it’s dark.  Ester is energetic and loves to play ball, she’ll even drop it and roll it around by herself – but loves for you to throw it for her!   Ester was once a hunting dog, and is quite happy to be outside on walks with you, but also is happy to follow the patches of sunshine around the house and lay in them to keep warm. If it was needed, she is crate trained for when you are gone short absences during the day, but because she likes to be with you – she does not like it at night.  Ester would make a wonderful family addition to almost any home to a family with kids, other pets that are either on some small acreage or or the yard is enclosed in some way.  She is happiest when she is allowed to be outside with the children running around!

Conate–Accepting Applications

Name: Conate Sex: Male
Location:  Milton, VT Color:

Liver & White

ID:   Posted: 4/30/09

Conate pronounced Ka-Na-Tay ( we call him Conty or Tay-Tay) is a four year old, male with loads of energy.  He is a wonderful dog, very loving and really loves attention.  He has been partially trained to hunt and is in need of reinforcement of basic obedience training, he does know his commands and listens quite well when not distracted, but more training and reinforcement will take care of that.  He is excellent at tracking and flushing out cats so a cat free home atleast until he has learned not every thing that moves is fair game would be best.  Conate is in need of a home that will take him for lots of walks and give him the attention he so badly deserves.  He will make anyone an great companion and is an excellent family dog.

Kirby– Accepting Applications

Name: Kirby Sex: Male
Location: Dudley, MA Color:

Black & White

ID:   Posted: 9/10/08

Kirby is a soon-to-be 14 year old retired hunting dog who has the looks of a 10 year old.  No one believes this handsome fieldy’s age.  He loves his fast-paced morning and evening walks and could keep going for much longer than the 1.3 mile loop he does.  Stairs are no problem for this boy and he’s shown playfulness with tennis balls.  Dogs and cats often bring out the “grumpy old man” in him so he needs to be an only animal with no small children.  Once Kirby gets the chance to check you out (his senses are slower being a senior), he’s a happy, go-lucky boy who also loves attention and will make a wonderful companion.  Please help us give this senior the home he deserves.
